Our resident poet is at it again.........It’s time for the Annual Redman Dinner once more
Get your tickets now,
There’s none at the door.
elfo@tpg.com.au is the place to write
for tickets to this fantastic night.
Dennis and Aidan will sing and play
While you buy yourself a drinkAnd nibble on a canapé.
Then it’s to the tables for laughter and dinner,Your waistline won’t be any thinner.
Carnivores, Vegos, GF and more
Your special dietary needsWill be catered for.
Two more courses what a treat,Now it’s time to get on your feet.
With jukebox playing and music ringing
It's your turn now
To do some singing
Your melodies may not bring out the sun
But it doesn't matter, we're here for fun.
If the karaoke gets a little screechy
You may feel you need ear plugs
Wouldn't that be peachy.
However, the songs cannot begin
until the money is in the tin.
Songbirds, help me raise some dough
By singing some songs
You may well know.
The audience will vote with coin and note
To make sure the music's not stuck in your throat.

Traveling to Bridge to Brisbane - how to get thereEvery year the GaleForce Running Squad organises buses for the Bridge2Brisbane (Sunday 29 August 2010).
This is a great way to get to the race start, by driving to the EKKA Grounds, leaving your vehicle there, catching the bus to the start line & not have to worry about collecting your vehicle after the race. I find this a far more easier way & that you can relax & enjoy the event with family & friends.
NOTE:
These buses are organised by the GaleForce Running Squad & have nothing to do with the event organisers.
Departure Point: Qld Cancer Fund HQ - cnr. Gregory Terrace & Anderson Streets. FORTITUDE VALLEY
Departure Time: 5:00am (sharp)Costs: $6.00 / ticket (non-refundable)
Tickets are now on sale. Seats are limited to 120 tickets. Tickets will be on sale until Monday 16 August or sold out (whichever comes first).
NO tickets will be available for sale after Monday 16 August. Tickets will be issued upon receipt of payment & will need to be bought along on the day to board the bus.
Tickets can be purchased by runners, family members, friends, work colleagues. To purchase tickets email chris@galeforcerunning.com for further details, bank account etc.Road Relay 2010 - 19th, 20th , 21st NovemberYes it is that time of year again....It is a tough weekend, 500k of running.
Again, we have entered two teams for this years challenge.
Runners need to be able to run 5k a few times a day and be able to run 5k reasonably fast - 22 minutes is the cut-off.
As well as runners, I need Helpers - Car drivers and Water vehicle helpers.
A number of people have let me know they will be taking part again this year so if you would like to be included, can you let me know now.
If anyone has contacts in the car hire industry or works for a company willing to lend vehicles in the name of charity, we need 2 station wagons, or 2 small 4wds, or a ute or anything with wheels and an engine. One will be used as the water vehicle and one for me to use as the drop off and pick up vehicle.
If you have never experienced a Road Relay, check out some of the stories on the website. This may scare you or it may encourage you to give it a try. If you like getting up at 4am and running, if flies and dust don't bother you, if running in the middle of the day in 40+ temperatures doesn't scare you then this could be the weekend you have been waiting for.
